Purchasing Sneakers for Men

By Max C. Silverlock

Buying a pair of shoes for men isn't as easy at it looks. Men's styles don't look like they are all that different from each other overall, but once you get into the meat and bones of what makes a shoe a good shoe you can be overwhelmed. Women's shoes come in row after row of colorful and bright or shiny styles that stands out. Men's shoes are a little more subtle.

Men's shoes are basically made for several different purposes. The dress shoe, also known as the men's loafer, is typically found in browns and blacks. There's the casual dressy shoe which also usually reflects the brown and black color scheme. There may be something unique about the shoes for men, such as added tassels or paneling of the shoe.

While most shoes for men don't come in yellow, red, or aqua, they certainly come with their share of differences. If you're picking out a dress shoe it is helpful to know what type of dress shoe he had before this pair. Usually, those are the ones on his feet every day. This will help you figure out whether the shoe you're picking out for him will work.

It's not uncommon for a woman to want to buy shoes for men that reflect a totally different style or even category than their guy is already wearing. Before you head down this slippery slope, make sure that you at least go with dressy casual shoes that can be worn to work or a sneaker that isn't made for a sport he doesn't play. When you try to change a man's sense of style, you run the risk of being insulting or stepping over boundaries that should be firm. Never change a man's style if you're at the beginning of a relationship.

How well your attempts to buy shoes for men that are different enough from the ones he needs replaced to be noticed could go over well. If you picked wisely and your guy is open minded it could go very well. It could also sink the ship. Tread lightly in this area and know your guy well before you try it.

Picking out sneakers are almost as difficult as grabbing some new shoes for men. Men's sneakers are basically segregated by the sport the sneaker supports. Not all men play sports, and most of the guys who don't play generally have specific ideas about which type they like best.

You don't have to buy shoes for men that are over priced, marked up too high, or sold specifically at high end stores for a higher profit. In fact, discount men's shoes are not a bad idea. You can have him in his perfect running shoe or work boot at a great discount. You might even have enough in the budget to snag a pair for yourself.

If you are a savvy shopper you can certainly grab a pair of discount men's shoes that are the same basic shoe for less money. Even the brand names that many guys go in for can be found for less through discount sites. While picking out shoes for men seems a little tough at first, once you get the hang of the general browns, blacks, and shades in between you can successfully pick out the right colors and general shape just by paying attention to what he already has on his feet. - 29871
