You Can't Go Wrong With These Fierce Summer Fashion Tips

By Jayde Johannsen

It's that favorite time of the year for both men and women alike, the time when pea-coats and wool socks are shoved back into the far end of the closet and replaced with light fabrics and bathing suits. Yes, spring has already arrived, and that means that summer's just around the corner. Even in times of recession, it doesn't mean that anyone doesn't need to look stylish. Brilliant woman have been dressing themselves for cheap and still maintaining the trends for quite some time. Without a due, here are some of the most economically-friendly fashion tips for summer that you'll read about just about anywhere.

Last year, it was all about the gold, the greens, and the 1980s. Yes, there was a retreat to a more minimal look and less patterns, and apparently that classic 1950s Coco Chanel influence is going to continue on this season, at the same time that younger designers insist on bringing back denim. And this isn't any run-of-the-mill denim resurrection, this is serious hair-metal, ripped-jeans-to-go-with-schrunchies denim. With even the young hipsters suffering from a bit of '80s fatigue, it might be best to explore other routes of the season's hottest trends.

Looking to invest in just one thing to really pull together a summer outfit or maybe spruce up something older and make it look more this season? We're noticing a serious move towards bright, chunky accessories, and it's totally apparent in the necklaces being designed right now. Versatile enough to wear with a lovely dress for night time or a tasteful v-neck for the daylight hours, investing in one really cute necklace will do wonders for your wardrobe this summer.

Instead, get fun and have a great time choosing accessories. The whole minimal approach to just a little bit of gold or silver has flown out the window, though that doesn't mean that you shouldn't follow the most important rule of accessorizing: less is always, ALWAYS, more. Don't feel the need to grab bracelets, bangles, and necklaces all for one outfit, but do definitely invest in at least one fun bangle bracelet and one bright and colorful necklace. It's a very simple way to dress up a plain black dress or one of those single-shouldered numbers you just picked up, and changing the accessories helps you get a ton of mileage out of your clothes.

It's tough to guess the colors of a season, even after seeing the runway shoes, but this shift towards muted but notably brighter palates on the runway seem to be pointing towards a continuance of yellow and green making a huge splash along with lighter orange and pink really taking the racks by storm. Just be advised that there's no need for you to attempt all the colors at once at any point, no matter what you see an Olsen Twin doing on Perez.

Traditional accessories that were a huge hit on the runway this season were a more tolerable version of 1980s inspiration. Upscale bangles are a huge hit, and make a great accessory when it comes to wearing a more plain outfit. They're bold, they're made out of all possible materials to match your fabric, and they won't break the bank but they'll leave their mark.

If you're planning on keeping it simple with your dress and accessorizing just a little bit, then another great place to bring in the color is with your purse. This year, there's a steady movement away from bags that look like they could carry your house keys, cell phone, and a medium-sized dog, and instead clutches are back harder than ever. To mix up your outfit, look for a small bag from days past in a nice color in your own closet, or go out and get something in a color that goes great with everything. If you choose wisely, it will easily be able to carry over into fall, too.

Depending on how comfortable you feel in them, leggings are another great facet of this season's fashion. They've carried on over from the spring and winter, and are ready in new colors and weights for summer. It's a simple way of dressing up a skirt or dress, and a nice take on accessorizing if you're not prepared to drape yourself in headscarves and gigantic necklaces. Definitely don't forget about leggings. And don't forget that your look doesn't have to be all about the season. Whatever mixing and matching you do, summer is time for fun and relaxing, so dress accordingly and have a great time! - 29871
