How to Wear Fashion Accessories to Look Slimmer

By Ash Moosa

Having a tough time deciding on which accessories to wear? Here are some suggestions on how to wear jewelry, belts and shoes that could make you look slimmer.

Necklaces: Avoid necklaces that are too short like chokers. A short necklace gives more attention to the neck, which may be something you want to avoid. Long necklaces create more attention on your bustline. So medium length necklaces with medium stones or beads will work best. With pendants, stick to square shaped pendants as round shapes tend to make you look bigger.

Earrings: To make your face look leaner, wear longer earrings. The longer lines of the earrings will make your face look leaner. Especially when wearing your hair up, avoid studs and small earrings as they tend to make your face look big. Smaller earrings work fine if your hair is down.

Belts: Wear a slim to medium-width belt - fabric belts are fine too. A belt instantly defines a waist line and gives the impression of an hour glass figure. Some fashion experts say that a thin belt is best for a larger waist line, and others say that a medium-width belt high on the waist has the same effect. Another tip is to wear a belt with a large buckle, This will shape your waist a bit more. If possible, wear a belt with a square buckle - as we mention above, circular shapes make you look rounder so square buckles tend to work better.

On Shoes: When wearing a short dress, try to wear heels. Similar to wearing long earrings, long heels instantly make your legs look longer, hence more slender. Just like how dark colored clothes make you look slimmer, wearing dark colored shoes works the same way. To take it a step further, wear shoes with thin long heels. Wearing chunky heels again accentuates your body.

But remember, whatever you wear should make you feel good. Dressing up is all about expressing yourself. Wearing what makes you feel good gives you confidence. No fashion advice or trend should suggest otherwise. - 29871
